
Hickory Run State Park
Hickory Run State Park is a 15,990 acre park that began with the National Park Service as a National Recreation Demonstration Area in 1935. It was built by the Works Progress Administration and Civilian Conservation Corps before being transferred to the state in 1945. The area of Hickory Run was formed when a glacier straddled the area creating many features of the park. Hickory Run State Park has more than 40 miles of hiking trails. The streams in the park are stocked with brook and brown trout. One of the most notable features of the park is Boulder Field a nearly 7.5 acre field of giant boulders. Boulder field is a National Natural Landmark and a State Park Natural Area. The park also contains several natural and man-made waterfalls.

French Creek State Park
French Creek State Park is a 7916 acre park located near Elverson, Pennsylvania. The park is the site for charcoal production used in ironmaking at the adjacent Hopewell Furnace. The park features 2 lakes Hopewell Lake and Scotts Run Lake. The lakes feature a variety of species of fish. There are more than 35 miles of hiking trails in the park.

Big Pocono State Park
Big Pocono State Park is an 1306 acre state park on the summit and slopes of the rugged Camelback Mountain in northeastern Pennsylvania. Near Tannersville PA, this state park overs views of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. It offers a great view while picnicking on top of Camelback mountain at an elevation of 2100 ft above sea level. The park offers great hiking. Be sure to take a look at the historic Cattell Cabin.
